Overview
Gyalis has an extremely powerful typing which leaves it few weaknesses and lets it hit many Tems back that would otherwise threaten melee types. Its base stats are extremely well optimized, with high attack, speed, and bulk. Its technique pool isn't as lethal on turn 1 as some other options, but after that turn passes it has access to excellent options for both of its types including a priority move. Gyalis is a powerful option for teams that don't need immense turn 1 pressure, although Helicopter Kick is still fairly respectable.

Description
(1.3 DUKE'S NOTES - LOSING HELICOPTER KICK MEANS GYALIS IS MORTAL ONCE MORE - SLINGSHOT GLASS BLADE IS AN OPTION INSTEAD OF DOUBLE GASH.)
Gyalis is an impressively statted tem, with great speed, solid attack power, and reasonable bulk. Its offensive typing makes it hard to resist, and after turn one, it can swap between huge melee and crystal damage. In addition, it can innoculate itself against statuses with Resistant or Bait, and punch back against special attackers with Mirroring.
Bait is a great gear on Gyalis, whose low stamina is offset by a relatively low cost of techniques. So it isn't absolutely necessary for Gyalis to use Fake Beard or Sweatband, and it appreciates the immunity offered by Bait as well. Sharp Stabs give Gyalis priority, while Crystal Bite and Hook Kick deal huge chunks of STAB damage.
If Minothor can get one or two Purgations onto Gyalis, look out. Gyalis can also threaten crystals that scare Mino. Mushook's Perfect Jab is a big help, and Ukama forms a great combination of typings with Gyalis' coverage.

Description
This is a basic spread for Mirroring Gyalis, which focuses on maximizing the large recoil of the Mirroring trait in order to cripple special attackers. Bait is an incredibly effective item option as it gives Immunity benefits temporarily along with Vigorized, helping Gyalis' low stamina. Gyalis' moveset is basically set in stone outside of the turn 1 option. Hook Kick and Crystal Bite provide strong STAB, and Sharp Stabs covers consistent priority.
Since Mirroring is 25% of damage taken, maximizing HP means you have the most potential Mirroring recoil. The stamina investment is to get an extra stamina regenerated per turn and on Double Gash sets allows every move to be clicked once without Bait. The small speed investment bumps Sharp Stabs to outspeed Amphatyr's Bright Beam always, as well as any other normal priority move from any Temtem. The rest of the points are put in attack to ensure Gyalis still hits extremely hard.
Alternative options (Mirroring):
If Bait is already taken, Mirroring Gyalis can also take Chamomile, but its Stamina will suffer. Other options can be considered as well; however, know that this weakens your matchup significantly into Toxics, which you otherwise wall and makes you vulnerable to burn and sleep.
Making Gyalis faster is also an option if you run a speedy team, but you may lose out on potential Mirroring recoil and overall survivability with less HP. Other speed benchmarks worth looking at is 165 TVs (outspeed max Vulffy) and 280 TVs (outspeed max Vulcrane and Kinu).
